Depression era tokens meant to help in the collection of sales tax from consumer's on low value purchases where the tax due was a fraction of a cent. This was meant to be easier on consumers during the economic struggles of the era.
Missouri was the last state to use the tax tokens, discontinuing them in 1961. Most states had discontinued their use at the end of World War II.
These coins are made from Zinc and are approximately 1" in diameter.
